Need Quick Start guide

--------------------------------------

I think we should do both - make a static info page for each mission base on the adventures.org web site, but also get these folks to start blogging. We can link to thier blog from the static info page. This will do a couple of things:

1. If each base is blogging, we will have additional content to add to our static info pages
2. Blogging will help each base feel more a part of the AIM organization as they contribute content
3. Each base can build up a following of web viewers who are interested in their day-to-day operations

I think the blogging mechanism is going to be a tremendous lift to the entire AIMorganization- blogs are hot, not because they are new, but because they are FRESH. The trip reports section of Adventures.org has always been our most trafficed section, providing 60-70% of all pageviews generated on Adventures.org. This blogging system gives us the ability to keep everything in and around the AIM websphere that much fresher.

An even bigger benefit is that these blogscan be channeled to YOUR specific interest...

We need to treat this whole process like the Nielsen Ratings company treats TV viewership - Each channel of AIM can build up a following of the people who are interested in that channel - we can have a blog for Alumni, a blog forthe Matamoros Missions Institute, a blog for Kenya, a blog for New Zealand, a blog for the Indian Reservations, a blog for the Borg Family.

If I've been to Matamoros with AIM and fell in love with the students there, I will subscribe toand follow the Institute blog. If I've been to New Zealand, I will subscribe to and follow the New Zealand blog. If I've worked side-by-side with the FYM's in Philly, I will subscribe to and follow the Philly blog. If I love and contribute to the Borg Family, I will subscribe to and follow the Borg Family. These are "channels".

I think we've just stumbled on the "Holy Grail" use of the Internet - niche customization of content + longer-term connections. "I can see what I am interested in seeing, and I can see it after I've experienced it to stay connected"

The Internet has been, and still is, traveling towards a state of greater personalization - we are heading down that path right now from a Christian Organizational standpoint. I'm excited! We are going to be able to leverage this big-time for the Kingdom!
